In March 2019, Dr. Daniel Müller from the University Hospital in Zurich travelled to Kampala, Uganda, to install a Mass Spectrometer donated by the University of Zurich at the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI). The Mass Spectrometer enables researchers and clinicians at IDI to perform various pharmacokinetic measurements and is one of a kind in the region. Dr. Daniel Müller conducted a special training for three members of the laboratory staff at IDI and continues to closely support their work through regular telephone conferences from Zurich. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Daniel Müller and Ursula Gutteck for their immense efforts to make this happen. The Mass Spectrometer will surely be of great benefit to patients at IDI and beyond.
